Three Trees & Three Flowers Art Show

I went to this art show opening at the nucleus gallery in L.A. last weekend. It was really amazing! Check out some of the artwork at gallerynucleus.com.

Update: Now that I finally have a bit of time, I want to fill you in on the show.

I actually ended up going from New York to L.A. since the show was right after my trip. It was well worth the extra miles. To be completely honest, I was a bit nervous about going. I’ve been to my fair share of gallery openings, but I dare to say that they differ from those out in Cali. Plus, I was going to try and meet some of the artists that I’ve been watching for some time now.

Anyway, the show was incredible. The three flowers (Yoko Tanji, Icco Sasai, Wakako Kakayama) had all of their work on the bottom floor. I was amazed how many pieces they had displayed. They each had such a unique style - it was a pleasure for the eyes. I really liked Yoko Tanji’s work. I kept eyeing a piece of hers all night, lol.

The three trees (Tadahiro Uesugi, Ronnie del Carmen, Enrico Casarosa) covered the upstairs walls. I’ve been a fan of Ronnie and Enrico’s work for a while now and was happy to see that they had some new stuff for the show. They have such incredible different styles and yet they both never cease to leave me in awe. I hadn’t seen much of Tadahiro’s work before the show. Man, I’ve been missing out. His stuff is amazing.

It really is impossible to tell how great the show was. I was amazed and inspired by all of the art surrounding me for those few hours. I took advantage of the opportunity to buy a few prints too. :) And it was a great privilege to get to meet each of the artists and talk with them for a few moments.

Pretty amazing stuff. It was definitely worth the trip down there. Check out all the work from the show here.
