About
Hey! I’m Alexiss and I’m a character animator! I’ve had the incredible blessing to study animation and have come to really love it for the work and the people. Animation has been one of the most challenging and yet most rewarding things I’ve had the opportunity to do.
I graduated from Brigham Young University in August of 2006 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. Yes, I know it’s a completely unrelated field to art but it taught me how to think in many different ways. I worked my way through college by working on computers, I studied Psychology, and I did on Art on the side (the side of all my note papers and textbooks that is). It was during my senior year at college I had a bit of a wake up call and decided that it was finally time to get back to doing something I really enjoy doing.
I studied animation at Animation Mentor - an incredible online animation school ran by professional animators. I started the program in January 2007 knowing nothing about animation and never having opened a 3D software packaged. Eighteen months later I finished my short film, Frozen, and moved out to New York to work at Blue Sky Studios on Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs.
I am currently working at Lumenas Animation Studios in Salt Lake City, Utah. We are currently in production on the film The Legend of Santa Claus, due out in theaters Christmas 2011. It is an incredible project and I’m extremely blessed to be working at such an amazing studio and get to be close to friends and family.
